Cross country day
cross country day
On Wednesday the 11th of September we had cross country zones we ordered our combo and our sausages in the morning and waited for the bell to ring. When the bell rang we went into our year lines and waited for the teachers to do the roll. After the roll Miss McGrath told all of the lines what station go go first, the year 0-1's did the run first, year 2's did the warm up for the run, the year 3's did the obstacle course on the playground, the year 4's did the soccer, the year 5's went to the place where you get your combo that you ordered, the combo was an ice block and banana cake or either chocolate brownies. The year 6's joined all the other lines.
I was in the year 5 group so I went to the combo station we ate our food and cheered for the people that passed by during the run, then when it has been 15 minutes we went to the soccer station. For the soccer station we all had a ball an we had to shoot all the four goals up the 25, some of the places were very close to the goal so it is easy to score but some of them were quiet far so some people missed the goal. When we got up to 10 or 13 goals Mr Riceman told the years 6's to be the goal keeper. 15 minutes later we stopped and went to the skipping station, all we had to do was to skip for the whole 15 minutes.
Some people skipped on their own and some people did it with the other, there was one person holding one side and the other holding the other side and one person in the middle had to jump when the skipping rope went close to there toes, we were all exhausted. Next we had to warm up for the run, we ran fast and slowly on a spot, we did some stretching etc, and after that for the rest of the ten minutes we were cheering for year 4's that passed by during the run, we cheered really loudly and clapped all of the people running were really happy. Next was us we took our jumpers of and lined up on the line the teacher said why we had arrows and what to do, then she took her wooden clapping thing and banged it together. We all ran as fast as we could at the start but after some time we were tired so we all jogged we had to run all the way to the metal fence area on the field then keep on running forwards then we had to go down the hill and get back up, after that we went to the tree area into the bush, when we came out we had to go to the swimming pool area and go up the big hill and go back down and go up the pool area up to the driveway then turn so you would be facing Te Waka Ako, after that we had to do another whole lap.
After we did the whole lap we had to go to the finish line all the way back at the start. Yousuf came first and I came 2nd, I was very proud of myself. Then the year 6's did it, they did the same as us, and when they finished we all had to get our lunch and eat, and if you brang your money you can go to the bake sale and buy stuff.
