Food Dairy
On the 15th of June, Te Waka Ako had a sheet about what you had for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. We wanted to see how much sugar we ate in one day. We wrote down what we had for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, we also wrote down how many pieces or how many cups or plates or bowls we ate. I drank half a bowl of milk and a bowl of corn flakes for breakfast, other had weatbix or toast, sandwich and others things. After we wrote down how many of them we ate we went on our Chromebooks to see how much sugar is in our food. If you don't know, five grams of sugar equals to one teaspoon of sugar, example: if you ate a muesli bar and it had 10 grams of sugar that means that you ate 2 teaspoons of sugar. The amount of sugar your allowed to eat in a day is 6 teaspoons of sugar if you eat more than 6 teaspoons a day you are not healthy, when you have finished looking at how much sugar is in your food you have to add up all the grams of sugar in your food. Nearly everyone in the seniors were unhealthy some got nine, 13, 10 and higher teaspoons of sugar. The highest number in our class is around 14 because of the mountain dew that he drank.
